I have a question.
What is it with religion?
I got to thinking about it recently (not too much to be doing research) and I came upon an idea.
If God created humans in His image, then why do we have war? Why do we have crime? Why do we have hate and all the other bad things out there?
I guess one could say that it is because God may be the all might, but he also feels. Or that he still wages war to attain goals that He sees fit for the majority of people. This is what humans do. Or seem to do.
I suppose that an excuse for the reasons we do the things mentioned above would be because, although we are created in the image of God (apparently) we were also granted with the gift of free will. Thus, giving us the ability to do as we please.
Now, to me, this just sounds like a good way to say "OK, so no one is really there. It's kind of a sham". And then that would require the need for rules, or "Commandments". This would give more control to the Church at the time, making the masses easier to control.
This is just my ideas however. I don't know much on religion, besides having a few debates with some avid Christianity fans. I have not read much into the ideas I have just told you. They are merely what I think on the topic.
Maybe I shouldn't do this at 12:15am.
Maybe I should just not do this at all.
But it's more fun if I do.

I like how I have said that I would try to write in this blog often when I first started it. A few posts late, I'm beginning to write every few months. The last time I made a post was in September I believe. I'm not the best at keeping commitments I guess.
At any rate, here is another post. Only one problem comes to mind, and that is, I do not know what to write about.
I could write about blogs and how they can make people change their opinions, or make them defend their own. I could talk about how they can entertain you and inform you.
Or I could write about my commitments that I cannot keep. Like writing in this blog, for example.
Good news, my new years resolution (along with millions of others) was to go to the gym more. I used to go quite frequently in the summer. I even lost quite a bit of weight (somewhere between 10-15 pounds in one months time). But once I reached my goal, school was in full swing and I did not have much time to work out.
Fifteen pounds later, I'm heading back to the gym. This time I have the assistance of my wonderful girlfriend so I'm quite certain I will reach my goals.
Well, so much for writing a whole lot. I couldn't think of much to write about. Maybe someone will read this.
Keep on rocking in the free world,
The Smile.

FLAG THIS POST!
So I have written a blog in a very long time. Most likely because I give up very easily on most things. Also because I just figured no one would ever read these so no worries.
But I occasionally find myself just checking the page to see if maybe someone left a comment.
They don't usually.
That's still fine though. This blog also acts as a way of me organizing my thoughts and such (even though I don't really ever say anything personal in this thing). I guess one thing I could do to get attention would be to make words that stand out that perhaps a government censor could pick up like BOMB or TERRORISM. But I don't know if that's what the Canadian government is about. That's why they're pretty awesome.
I love universal health care. Mainly because I use it more than a normal person. Which means, they're paying more for my health care than I am.
But I didn't intend for this to be a big long speech about health care and the government (mainly because I know next to nothing about how all that works). I was just bored and decided to check out my blog and perhaps write another one.
Which I did.
Sweet.

Where can you go?
So I'm sitting outside as I type this, just in my backyard. And it hits me: You can't go many places without being somewhat connected to the world, via the internet.
This should not be too surprising though, I guess. In modern culture the internet is a vital part of everyday life. It just never occurred to me that there is a way to communicate with the world almost anywhere.
As I type this, my cat is in the backyard with me, hunting for birds. I don't quite think that this adds to what I've mentioned above, but it just seemed significant.
I know that the internet is a major part of the modern world and it should not surprise me that I can go online almost anywhere. It did though.
Just a bit.

This be serious post.
This isn't really a serious post. I'm just wondering something.
Why do people say that they'll help you with anything you need help with but decide not to and instead claim that you have never helped them a second in your life even though most of your time spent with them is spent helping them?
What gives them the right to accuse you of not helping them when every second you're awake is spent thinking of how you can help them?
This is just a personal thing that has been bothering me for a while. I've had people like this in my life. I try to help them. Sometimes I am actually able to help them. It's just when I need help that they accuse me of never helping me. This isn't me just being greedy. I don't often ask for help. Mainly because I'm busy helping some one else.
OK, maybe this was a bit of a serious post. But it's still a valid question nonetheless.
So, I ask: Why do people do this? Is it just human nature? Am I genuinely not helping them and they're just saying that I am?
I would love to know.
Maybe I never will.

Here lies the first.
This is the first blog I'm posting on blogspot. This much is obvious I guess.
I don't know why I thought I wanted to start blogging. I guess I just want everyone to hear what I'm talking about.
SO!
I guess I don't really have much to say except this: I'm tired of the Micheal Jackson death stuff.
He's dead. He wasn't THAT great. Much more important people could die without notice. Lets face it, recently he hasn't even been famous for his music. He released his last album in 2001 and before that it was in 1995. He was more a spectacle that everyone could watch and be entertained by, like someone who is being laughed at but does not know why. They just do it more because people are laughing.
I'm not saying people were laughing at MJ. Or I might be.
I don't really know where I stand on everything MJ-related. But frankly, I don't really care.
Perhaps I'm just cynical.
Perhaps I'm just right.
Oh well.
